OLA Medical Centre

Ensuring that children at OLA feel safe and well cared for, the school also provides a School Counsellor and School Nurse.

Our medical centre is located within the lower school and is accessible to pupils and students across the lower and senior school during the school day. We have two assessment rooms linked to our consultation area where students discuss their medical needs as they arise.  Our School Nurse is in regular communication with parents in order to support their children with acute or chronic needs and the medical centre is always accessible as a drop in throughout the day.

The medical centre is central to the general well being of our pupils and they often pop in for pastoral support which is readily available along with an open dialogue with parents who are informed at every step of the way. Working in collaboration with teachers and leadership the medical centre support pupils through regular ups and downs of their school life as well as on a more profound level considering their social and emotional development, which allows them to grow into resilient, confident, self-aware and knowledgeable young adults.

More recently, following government guidelines, our school nurse initiated lateral flow testing amongst staff and pupils, now being carried out independently at home, and we are pleased to say there has not been a positive case to date within our school.  We welcome any questions about our medical provision at the school, and our nurse is always keen to communicate with current and prospective pupil parents alike.  Please forward any questions to nurse@ola.org.uk
